THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MUSIC ON PATIENTS' ANXIETY IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF SURGERY

Anxiety can lead to increased blood pressure, faster heart rate, higher blood glucose, lower digestive organ movement, lower immunity and pain threshold, which increase the risk and difficulty of anaesthetic treatment during operation, and affect the recovery of patients after operation. Music interventions have been used in health care to reduce anxiety, but the effect of using music to ease anxiety in perioperative patients is controversial. This article provides a systematic review of 26 randomized controlled trials of the effects of music interventions in perioperative settings. The results showed that 58.3% of the study results showed that music can effectively reduce the anxiety of the patients, and average reduction of anxiety in 25.08%. The intraoperative and postoperative can effectively reduce the anxiety of the patients by 27.29% and 28.55%, which is significantly higher than that of the music intervention before operation (12.08%). The results showed that music had a positive effect on relieving anxiety of perioperative patients. How to improve the effect of music to relieve anxiety should be further from the music preference, cultural background of patients, the type and form of music, the type and duration of operation, the stage and duration of intervention and other related issues unfolded.
