An adaptive low frequency equalization algorithm is proposed for closed-box loudspeakers. The proposed technique is based on the loudspeaker's diaphragm displacement and low frequency electrical input power protection. By using the loudspeaker's linear model, we derive the expression of the target response's lower cutoff frequency for equalization represented by loudspeaker's T/S parameters. Experimental Results show that this algorithm extends the loudspeaker's low frequency response effectively and protects against excessive diaphragm excursions.
