摘要

The perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary condition has been widely used in acoustic and seismic simulation. There are two main implementations of PML: the classical splitting PML (SPML) method and the traditional non-splitting PML (NPML) method. In order to make a comparison between the two methods, they were applied to elastic medium and porous medium. In this paper, the two methods were compared in terms of calculation amount, storage amount and absorption effect. The result shows the SPML method has a smaller calculation amount and storage amount than the NPML method, however, in consideration of absorption effect, the NPML method behaves better when the incident angle is small, and the two methods tend to have similar absorption effect at grazing incidence.
