The Magnetorheological Elastomer (MRE) is a material which shows reversible and various moduli in magnetic field. These characteristic phenomena result from the orientation of magnetic particle in rubber matrix. In this study, natural rubber (NR) was used as a matrix in order to fabricate MREs. Magnetic reactive powder (MRP), having rapid magnetic reaction, was selected as a magnetic particle to induce magnetic field-reactive modulus in MREs. Silane coupling agent was added in order to reinforce interfacial adhesion between MRP and NR matrix. The variation rate of shear modulus, the most important mechanical property of MREs, was evaluated with and without applying magnetic field. The analysis of evaluated data using force transducer and accelerometer was carried out by FFT analyzer with various induced currents. As induced current was increased, the variation rates of shear modulus were observed. Throughout this study, it was found that Silane coupling agent and induced currents affected the variation rate of shear modulus in MREs.
