The paper deals with the noise emission directivity of a vehicle moving with a low speed. Such conditions occur during maneuvers at parking places, garages, gas stations, road intersections and in other conditions when its driving speed is low. Dedicated experiment was recently planned and performed at the Technical University of Gdansk to determine vehicle noise emission in such conditions and to compare it to the emission in typical road conditions (constant speed above 40km/h). The noise emission of selected vehicles moving with low speed in conditions of cruse-by, coast-by, accelerating and braking was measured. Results of the experiment were presented and discussed in this paper. Special attention was paid to the directivity of vehicle noise emission. Directivity patterns with measured values of sound pressure level and frequency spectra can be an input data to traffic noise prediction models.
