摘要

A new simplified model to analyse the dynamic elastoplastic response of beams is presented. In this model a beam is composed of elastic Timoshenko beam segments connected by discrete elastic-perfectly plastic points. Two examples are presented. The bending moment distribution and plastic work dissipated in the beams by this model show good agreement with finite element results. The influences of energy ratio and mass ratio on the structural dynamic behaviours are also discussed.
