System "SOKOL-0" can be considered as computer network VSAT's connected by satellite communication channels with a master computer at the central ground station. The important feature of the system consists in information receiving/transmission automation: taking into account priorities of uses and messages and connection provision, information exchange, mail handling, book keeping, and some other operations which don't require operator interference. The channel protocol provides automated error correction using antinoise coding and automated retransmission of information with uncorrected errors. The system space segment consists of "POTOK" satellite-transponders.
