Rainwater cistern systems have been popular and useful around the world. In Japan, they have come to attract people's interest as a new source of water to mainly save tap water in urban areas. On the other hand there are many regions such as isolated islands where rainwater is the main source for drinking water or water for domestic purpose. In Japan precipitation during the rainy season is abundant, enough that if it could be collected and stored, then it could be utilized for the following dry summer season. For its safer use, there is a need to investigate fluctuation in the quality of rainwater during storage. For this purpose, rainwater is collected through the gutter of a greenhouse roof with an area of about 80 m2 and stored in a polyethylene container. In order to investigate the state of its fluctuation, the quality of the stored rainwater was tested at intervals of one week from the end of July to end of October. The results are shown in this paper.
