A review of design research-a frntier in concurrent and integrated manufacturing

It is conceivable that the configuration of a design may influence the manufacturing at a higher level of signifcance than the geometric details of this design.This means that a methodology of generating configurational alternatives with brief manufacturability assessment based on the functional needs of the design,and even the purpose of the design,is needed.This paper reports a review of design research in this ocntext.
