THE STATE OF THE ART AND THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF BOILER FEED PUMPS

Today boiler feed pumps are used in a vast field of applications with strongly diverging requirements. Although every pump has to meet a rather precise individual specification, the majority of pumps can be built without using sophisticated technology. To compete in this price driven market, a pump manufacturer has to have a well considered standardized modular system providing flexible solutions at the lowest price. On the other hand few pumps only are purchased in the high end segment, usually installed in large fossil power plants. By their size these pumps are beyond any modular system and have to be tailored to the specification. These machines demand for the expertise of the manufacturer and trigger the research for new designs.
