Dynamic analysis by stochastic boundary elements

The dynamic analysis of a linear stochastic continuum is approached by coupling a boundary element procedure with response surface technique. The physical and mechanical properties of the medium are modelled as stochastic fields and the solution in terms of eigenvalues and eigenvectors is pursued. The study of the dynamic behaviour of a soil lens is presented as an example.
