In this paper, a comprehensive simulation model for a commutatorless motor drive system, with closed-loop control was presented, which enable ones not only to discribe mathematically the main circuit consisting of a Phase-Controlled rectifier, a D.C. filter, an inverter and a synchronous motor, but also to simulate exactly the process of the speed and current PI regulation , the rotor position sensing, the commutations by current - interrupting and back emfs. As concerning simulation algorithm, a so called Basis-Transformed State-Space Approach was emploied to speed up the simulation for a complicated drive system.
