Introducing the Blind Hunger Dilemma: Agents' Properties and Performance

This paper introduces the Blind Hunger Dilemma as a cardinal problem in multi-agent domains. This problem investigates the effect of agents' characteristics on the mean performance of a to-tal system when the agents are involved in exclu-sive use of shared resources. In this paper, we model an agent that is sensitive to forces origi-nating both from an energy supply base and ad-jacent agents. We characterize the agents' prop-erties with two parameters and investigate the relationship between these two parameters and performance measures such as the rate of energy replenishment.
