The Greening of the White House is a comprehensive, phased project introduced by President Clinton in his 1993 Earth Day Address. The Project is designed to improve the energy efficiency and environmental quality of the White House Complex. The White House Complex includes the Old Executive Office Building (OEOB), the Executive Residence, and the East and West Wings of the White House. The steps taken are expected to save hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars each year.
