Improvement of ozonation and adsorption with respect to minimizatin of THM-formation in the process of drinking water treatment

The paper posints out the influence of ozonation on the trihalomethaneformation (THM) during drinking water treatment. It could be shown that in the presence of bromide essentially the brominated THM's are formed. The investigations were carried out with waters form different waterworks located in eastern Germany, where bromide is present to a certain extent in the raw waters.
