RAPID DETERMINATION OF CLINKER FREE LIME FOR PROCESS CONTROL - DESIGN DEVELOPMENT OF AN APPARATUS

In cement manufacture, free lime is a critical parameter for controlling the process and quality. This has assumed more importance with the introduction of large capacity cement plants where the need for determination of free lime is almost immediate. The paper describes design and development of a Rapid Free Lime Analyser (Model ALFA 90 S) by The Associated Cement Cos.Ltd. , India. The precision of analysis, calibra- tion and the performance of ALFA 90 S in a cement plant has been discussed.
