THE EVOLUTION OF BURNER TECHNOLOGY FOR CEMENT

One of the major accessories of a rotary cement kiln is the burner, which nowadays has to meet the following basic criteria : a - Flame shape adjustment, for stable kiln coating and improved refractory life. b - Good combustion characteristics for low CO, low NOx emission, at low O_2. c - Low primary air consumption for better heat recovery and improved efficiency. We give below a short history of burner development, acheived over the last 30 years.
