The authors investigate the spectrum sharing capability of a CDMA PCN (48 MHz bandwidth), overlayed on the Fixed Service Microwave (FSM) band (1850-1990 MHz). This overlay may cause two types of interference: 1) Interference from the overlayed PCN on the FSM systems, 2) interference from the microwave system to the PCN users. In the first case, both analog and digital microwave systems are considered. In the second case, the performance degradation is investigated of a CDMA PCN due to the interference produced by the FSM signal. The cochannel (CDMA) interference within the SS system is also considered.
