PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease number of RAKE receivers which each local base station must have, when soft hand-off is executed in the CDMA system. ;SOLUTION: This CDMA cellular radio telephone system is provided with plural local base stations 40, 41, 42, a central base station 20 that connects to at least two of the plural local base stations 40, 41, 42 via transmission media 406, 416, and a mobile telephone exchange center 22 and utilizes the central base station handling plural mobile telephone subscribers in plural cells.
