Liquid effluents from coal gasification processes contain several species like ammonia, sulphide, cyanide, thiocyanate, thiosulphate and formic acid that must be removed in order to meet the effluent regulations. With treatment processes like steam-stripping it is not possible to meet all the desired effluent concentration.s Therefore the ozonation process was adopted in our treatment schemes.
