The current status of full-fusion welding and weld cladding in the manufacture of thick-walled vessels is exemplified on the basis of reactor pressure vessels and steam generators.In order to meet the stringent demands placed on the reliability and safety of pressure vessels, it is necessary to follow a specific procedure in the planning, fabrication, inspection and documentation, with quality assurance as the prime objective.
