Elevated Temperature Structural Design Guide for Class 1 Component of Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor' (ETSDG) was developed for "Monju" by the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation in 1984. Main components of "Monju" aremanufactured and constructed in accordance with the design guide.ETSDG is based on the Japanese legal structural design standard, "MIII Notice No.501 " which is for commercial light water reactors, and refers to ASME Code Case N-47. It has several characteristic features in its design analysis method and the materialstrength standard( MSS ) is based on Japanese domestic material test data.An advanced structural design guide for large scale fast breeder reactor ( LFBR ) components is under development under a collaboration of four Japanese nuclear organizations, JAPC, PNC, CRIEPI and JAERI.
