The Paddy Tillage Machine (P.T.M.) is a new farm machine with a single driving wheel and the riding installation which has the efficient function of ploughing, harrowing, cultivating and the stationary operations such as irrigating, spraying, threshing if necessary implements are attached. It has the characteristics of simple construction, easy operation, light weight, good maintainability, light trafficability and excellent versatility which make it especially suitable for use in small fields. This article mainly deals with the performance of the P.T.M. working in paddy fields and makes theoretical analysis of some technical problems of P.T.M. which are involved in the characteristics of its configuration, the basic arrangement forms, the analysis of forces on working conditions, the determining of general designing parameters and the developing in the future. Furthermore, the performance test in fields and economic analysis of the machine have also been introduced.
