The water flow in an experimental model, a pin-finned passage with 8 outlets, is visualized by injecting dye at several defferent points in order to investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics in a cooling passage of gas turbine blade trailing edge. The turbulent flow and heat transfer inside the model passage are simulated by using the SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for PressureLinked Equations) numberical method and two-equation turbulence model, so that the cooling performance of gas turbine blade trailing edge may be predicted. The flow is assumed to be two dimensional and incompressible, however, the drag of the wall to air and the heat transfer between the wall and cooling air have been taken into account. The results of computation including velocity vectors, air and wall temperature distributions are in good agreement with previous experimental results.
