In view of the existing problems of the original three-axis 3D printer, such as complex model support, high surface roughness of the model, low material utilization rate and long printing cycle, using the 3D modeling software Solidworks to carry out innovative design for it, the five-axis 3D printing was used to improve the printing quality. A new 5-axis 3D printer based on Stewart parallel mechanism is selected as the design scheme, which can realize unsupported printing and improve printing efficiency and material utilization. Stewart platform parallel mechanism has the characteristics of strong bearing capacity and non-accumulative position error, which is complementary to Delta parallel mechanism in application.
