PURPOSE: A parallel process based digital surface model generating method and a system thereof are provided to divide a target area for generating a DSM into specific unit areas and to prevent increase of processing time by generating DSM of a target area by performing parallel process of a divided unit area.;CONSTITUTION: A target area for generating a DSM is divided into a plurality of unit areas(S620). Reference images including at least one unit area are searched(S640). Height values corresponding to two-dimensional coordinates are extracted by using the searched reference images.
