From the recent past, Short Message Services [SMS] plays an indispensable role for enabling information exchange via mobile device systems. Due to the unprecedented increase in the number of mobile phone users, this research aims to secure the SMS sent through phone. Usually, the text messages are encrypted during transmission and they are decrypted on the reception. Encryption is a process of encapsulating a message so that it becomes unreadable. To hide any important information that can be read by other people, encryption is important. The only method of reading a message is to know about the algorithm used for encrypting the message. Now-a-days computer is used for performing the encryption and decryption process. In this paper, encrypt and decrypt the SMS by using algorithm that can work on JAVA enabled mobile phones. Mobile phones are able to perform encryption and decryption. This work provides a secured transmission of SMS via mobile phone and thus avoiding unauthorized person to read the information. The privacy is maintained and thus the secret information can be passed onto the intended recipient through mail or in person. The above methods initiate delay and less efficient for the crucial business-related operations. In this secured method of transmission, the sender and the receiver will be able to exchange the secret or private information with less delay and high efficiency.
