The use of Ozone and Granular Activated Carbon in the Treatment of Potable Water

摘要

The paper deals with the seven months investigation results of upgrading the standard treatment procedure of river water in an existing treatment plant. The investigation was carried out on a pilot plant supplied with two different types of activated carbon and anthracite with and without ozone. The complete removal of organic matter from water being realized only by the interaction of ozone, GAC filters and biological effects.
