Combination of pesticides is made with the intention of widening the spectrum, saving labor, potentiating efficacy and overcoming resistance of pests. There is a negative opinion that combination generally results in the simultaneous development of resistance to the components. However, experiences on plant and leafhoppers does not necessarily support this opinion. Combination of malathion with IBP and that of N-methyl and N-propyl-carbamates have been reported in terms of synergism to resistant strain and their mechanism of action.
