SYNTHESIS OF PARAPHEROMONES OF THE RICE STEM BORER MOTH, CHILO SUPPRESSALIS WALKER

摘要

The rice stem borer, Chilo suppressal is Walker, is one of the major rice pests in China. Nesbitt et al. (1975) identified its female sex pheromones as 2 components: Z-11-hexadecenal (Z-11-HDAL) and Z-13-octadecenal. Because the aldehydes are unstable in field test, Kanno (1978) reported Z-5-hexadecene ((Z)-5-HD) could be used as mating disruptant in rice field. Further change of structures of natural sex pheromones might, lead to the finding of some new parapheromones.
