ISDN IMPLEMENTATION IN A BELL OPERATING COMPANY

摘要

This paper will discuss Illinois Bell's ISDN trial implementation and issues to be resolved before deployment of ISDN to the general marketplace can be achieved. The architecture and services that will be trialed beginning in the last half of 1986 using multiple Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) vendor products and the AT&T No. 5 ESS Digital Switch are also discussed. The paper concludes that ISDN can be introduced in the marketplace during this decade and will offer numerous new service opportunities for exchange carriers.
