DESIGN OF M-ARY LARGE SAMPLE RECEIVERS AND THE LOCALLY OPTIMAL DIRECT SEQUENCE MPSK RECEIVER

摘要

In this paper we discuss the application of asymptotic memoryless detection theory to M-ary decision problems.Previously,only the simple binary problem has been considered.The application presented here is the design of MPSK receivers.In particular,the structural simplifications that occur when the noise distribution is circularly symmetric is studied in detail.It is demonstrated that the locally optimum quadrature receiver presented here is the natural extension of the known locally optimum structure for the simple binary case.
