摘要

In [1] we have introduced and analyzed a new priority user protocol for CSMA/CD and have shown the effect of including priority channels on the performance of non-priority users.In this paper we reveal the effect of various loads from non-priority users on the performance of priority users.For this we derive a closed form expression for the average interdeparture time of non-prlorlty users,introduce and analyze an analytical model sultable for predicting the prlorlty users performance.Based on this model we relate the average interdeparture time of non-priority users to the priority channels parameters and examine their mutual interactions.Results show that at very light traffic from non-priority users,the average delay for priority users grows unbounded.A solution to this problem which requires minor modification in the protocol is also suggested.
