A SIMPLE REAL-TIME ADAPTIVE SPEECH DETECTOR FOR SCPC SYSTEMS

In SCPC systems speech detectors (SD) are used to make difference betwen voiced and unvoiced speech-periods.If no speech is present, the carrier of this specific channel is inhibited, this way valuable satellite-energy is saved and the systemload is decreased.As the timesharing operation of the SD is not easily realizable, a low-complexity and low-cost real-time implementation is aimed at.Based on a survey of the SD parameters a flowchart directly suitable for the realization by an I8085 based multiprocessor is proposed and the SD is evaluated.
