Implementation of Local Area Networks (LAN)for operation in the 100 Mbit/seoond region presents the system designer with difficult challenges.But,the higher speed may also provide the designer with some opportunity.This results from the changed relationship between transmitted bit duration and propagation delay per node on the network.
