Harmonic Coding is a new digital speech coding scheme, that results from the use of a voiceo speech moael in combination with ATC. It is very efficient, and very flexible, being able to cover the whole coding gap. The Harmonic Cooing scheme was already introduced elsewhere. However,the resulting cescription was somewhat complicated, mainly because it was done in combination with the discussion of a nonstationary model for voiced speech.The purpose of this paper is to discuss Harmonic Coding in a simple manner, so that its fundamentals can be easily grasped.
