The impact of computers on nuclear cardiology

摘要

The marriage of the computer to nuclear imaging has permitted rapid advances in non-invasive cardiac diagnosis. The miniaturization of the computer has allowed its incorporation in to the scintillation camera and has permitted the development of a new device - the ambulatory ventricular function monitor. This instrument will al low the study of cardiac function while patients pursue their activities of daily living. This information should permit a more precise assessment of the impact of disease on cardiac function, and allow a determination of the changes in cardiac function after medical or surgical therapy.
