BANDED RADIAL TIRE ON AND OFF-ROAD BENEFITS FIRST PHASE SUMMARY

A design summary and test program is given for a unique application of a thin high strength circumferential band on a radial tire. Significantly enhanced footprint characteristics are achieved for weak soil operation. Low rolling resistance, puncture resistance, and ability to run depressurized are the dominant features for highway operation.
