摘要

A general-purpose, three-dimensional, unstructured-grid Navier-Stokes computational technique for modeling non-linear water waves is presented. The features of the method include higher order piecewise linear surface reconstruction/fluxing, coupled with the use of act-tree adaptive grids to handle widely differing length-scales inherent in wave simulations. These features are shown to significantly improve the speed and accuracy of wave simulations while decreasing the computation time and memory requirements, allowing the VOF technique to be used as a practical design tool for wave simulations and maritime applications. Demonstrative 2-D and 3-D results for typical applications are shown and discussed.
