Energy efficient control of variable-speed induction motor drives based on Particle Swarm Optimization

摘要

The paper presents an energy-efficient method for a variable-speed induction motor drive control with copper and iron losses minimization, based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. After the detailed analyses of the optimization problem, the PSO based algorithm is developed and verified both on a simulation and laboratory model. Results of the PSO algorithm are written into two dimensional lookup table and implemented in both models. Experimental setup consists of remotely controlled industrial variable speed induction motor drive with Rotor Field Oriented Control (RFOC) and the load. Both simulation and experimental results are analyzed and discussed. All achieved results demonstrate expected performance of the energy optimal control of the induction motor drive based on the proposed algorithm.
