Aerosol vertical profiles play an important role in understanding the global aerosol column integrated characters. This study focuses on expressing global AOD distribution from MODIS AODs (used as column integrated AODs in the total sky), CALIOP aerosol extinction profiles (applied to express aerosol vertical structures) and the reanalysis PBLH (applied as the threshold altitude for different vertical spatial layers divided). For seasonal averaged proportions of AOD in PBLH, the peak value over land appears in MAM (74.1%) with the valley value in DJF (65.4%). Over ocean, the values appear in DJF (76.1%) and MAM (71%), correspondingly. As for seasonal averaged AODs, the peak value over land appears in JJA (0.236) with the valley value in DJF (0.16). Over ocean, the corresponding values respectively appear in MAM (0.138) and SON (0.131).
