Assuring an acceptable return of the investments made in the Space sector is a common issue worldwide. The Copernicus User Uptake Initiative (CUPI) is part of the European Union's strategy for increasing the level of awareness of the Copernicus Program worldwide, fostering the adoption of Copernicus-based data/solution in the everyday life of each kind of potential stakeholder, from Local Regional Authorities (LRA) to general public. The CoRdiNet (Copernicus Relays for digitalization spanning a Network) project was funded in the frame of Horizon 2020 Space Hubs call, issued to implement, and reinforce CUPI actions among the network of the so-called Copernicus Relays. The latter, as part of the Space strategy for Europe of the European Commission, act as Copernicus Ambassadors, providing their contribution for a better dissemination and promotion of Copernicus-based solution at local/regional scale. Among the different activities carried out within the project, in this paper results achieved by looking for those barriers that have limited a more diffuse and systematic adoption of Copernicus data and services among the potential end-users will be shown and discussed, trying to provide also a few preliminarily suggestions about how to cope with them.
