To predict the change in the temperature field of pavement structure, this study determines the temperature parameter by a theoretical formula and verifies its accuracy through finite element analysis. The research summarizes meteorological parameters in the project area and determines the material parameters and meteorological parameters for the finite element calculation models after analyzing the temperature data. The temperature field distribution in the test section of the Jilai Expressway is modeled as a case study. Finally, temperature observation data and calculation results are compared to adjust the model and make the settlement results close to the measured value. The findings show that the surface layer can be only considered and the probability of cracking is very small when studying the shrinkage and cracking caused by the sudden drop of temperature. The shrinkage and cracking of the base can refer to the variation rule of the temperature difference within one year.
