The method of high-frequency filtering of the cooling curves of melts by the extrema of the derivative was applied and a procedure for identifying crystallization points of gray cast iron was proposed, which allows to distinguish the austenite-perlite interval, according to which further analysis takes place. The filtered curve is compared with reference cooling curves, the composition of which is known, and the chemical composition of the melt is determined by their proximity to one of them.
