Environmental Performance of Motorcycle Gasoline Engines

Due to the health hazards associated with it, air pollution is a significant problem which is gaining increasing research interest. High levels of air pollution can cause serious health problems, including acute respiratory diseases and allergy. In addition to its adverse effects on human health and air, pollution also has a negative impact on animals, vegetation, crops and climate change. This paper aims at analysing idle running parameters of three different motorcycle engines at crankshaft speeds from 1000 rpm to nominal speed. The concentrations of harmful emissions in the exhaust gases are measured, analysed and compared.
