The traditional ground-based radio navigation station selection method is based on the principle of maximizing the accuracy that the navigation station can provide. It is difficult to fully meet the ICAO requirements for performance based navigation (PBN), and often faces the problem of frequent navigation station switching. To overcome the shortcomings of traditional algorithm, based on total system error analysis (TSE), a new algorithm for selection of ground-based radio navigation station is proposed. This method makes full use of the current position information and track prediction data of the aircraft, and selects a land-based radio navigation station with long navigation time and meeting the requirements of navigation performance, effectively improving the quality of selection of the land-based radio navigation station and reducing the number of navigation station switching. Final simulation results show the new algorithm can obtain better performance over traditional algorithm.
