New Theoretical Estimation Method of Roll Acceleration and Jerk in Beam Seas with Use of PDF Line Integral (4th Report: Joint PDF of Roll and Acceleration)

A considerable number of studies on the estimation methodof roll response in irregular seas have been conducted over theyears. From the perspective of research that considersnonlinearity in the stochastic estimation methods, the works ofDalzel 1), Haddara 2), and Roberts 3) can be said to be theoriginator of subsequent researches. In this decade, the authors,Dostal and Maki, have been separately or collaborativelycontributing to this field with the use of the stochasticaveraging method 6), 7), 8) or equivalent linearization methodwith non-Gaussian PDF 9), 10), 11). On the other hand, theresearch on roll angular acceleration 12), 13) for the arbitralnonlinear system had not been carried out much.
