The inhibition effect of two Benzimidazole derivatives and one commercial inhibitor for corrosion ofN80 steel in 15% HCl solution was investigated using gravimetric, and electrochemical techniques.In electrochemical study electrochemical impedance (EIS) potentiodynamic polarization (Tafel) andelectrochemical frequency modulation (EFM) were used as an effective method to determine therate of corrosion. Surface analyses of the metal samples were performed using scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)studies. The mandate of obtained efficiency for corrosion is Com-1>C1>C2. Potentiodynamicpolarization discloses that the studied inhibitors are anodic with a shift towards cathodic region. Allthe inhibitors followed Langmuir isotherm for surface adsorption as is justified by the linear fitresults and regression coefficient values close to 1. SEM, AFM and XPS were used for steelsurface characterization and they confirmed the mitigation of N80 steel corrosion in existence ofinhibitors.
