The conceptual design for a unique passive thermal control enclosure at the forward section of the Gravity Probe-B (GP-B) spacecraft has been completed. The enclosure must maintain critical electronics boxes that are required to control the experiments to within very stringent temperature fluctuations. These temperature fluctuations have to be maintained for both the roll rate of the GP-B spacecraft during its orbit around Earth as well as over the seasons during the operational lifetime of the spacecraft. In addition, this passive thermal enclosure must provide the necessary radiating surface area for rejecting the heat dissipated by the electronics boxes.
