The paper is an exploratory study with a view to probing theawareness/interest, successful experience and act as a catalyst forfurther growth and development. The needs, aims and objectives are to(i) evaluate the success of energy conservation programmes and thedegree to which they have been effective by eliciting information onpractices followed including various aspects of conservation; (ii)problems faced in its practice and implementation; (iii) overall needfor an energy audit, its success and popularity; (iv) assess the extentof the role of financial institution/banks, consultants, and their workquality; and (v) to create awareness, realization to implement energysaving projects and better energy management practices and in theprocess help them to help themselves
